【本報記者鄭鈞元江門十五日電】香港金信船務與大昌行物流宣布將於本月22日正式開設新航線，來往鹽田國際集裝箱碼頭與新會港國際貨運碼頭，可望為珠江三角洲西部貨主、貨代和船公司提供以水路通關的另一選擇。
新航線逢周1、3、5由鹽田開出，逢周2、4、6由新會開出。金信物流集團主席羅煌楓表示，使用該航線的成本比選擇陸路拖運為低，預計可令貨主等用家平均每櫃節省300至400美元。而水路通關亦可紓緩旺季時拖車供應緊張的情況，減少拖運費因拖車短缺而波動，長遠有望降低貨主的營運成本。
他指出，雖然航班是隔天開出，不過該公司正與其他船公司洽商，預渡部分吉箱到新會港，可供即日訂吉櫃裝貨。新會港亦將與鹽田國際集裝箱碼頭簽訂協議，成為後者的延伸堆場，以水路閘口形式收取吉櫃。 大昌行物流董事總經理谷大偉則稱，在環球經濟危機的影響下，中國中小企業正面臨前所未有的挑戰，他有信心在新會鹽田快線正式開通後，整個粵西地區進出口企業的競爭力可獲提高。

Mr Steve Lo, JP, awarded: "Outstanding Achievement of HK Logistics Award by HKTDC"
Mr Steve Lo has been working in the logistics industry for 30 years and with his dedication and contribution to the industry, he has won the Outstanding Achievement Award in 2006.
Mr Lo has been holding important positions in various logistics industry bodies in Hong Kong, including Chairman of Chamber of Hong Kong Logistics Industry, Committee member of Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and Director of the Innovation & Technology Commission - R & D Centre.
When asked about how to sustain the industry's development, Mr Lo suggested: "Hong Kong players should no longer compete on price. We should develop Hong Kong into a six-star logistics hub by improving the efficiency of our container terminal and cross-border transportation while paying no less attention to staff training and management." |
